A request from Mayra:
We are getting close to the race on November 3, 2018. As the Medical Honoree for the Arthritis Foundation this year during the jingle bell, I’m asking for your help in supporting this great organization.
This is a National organization that helps Millions of people live with arthritis and suffer disabling pain. As a rheumatologist, I see this first hand. Since I believe our healthcare cost is out of hand and medication prices are constantly going up, I have stepped up to help many people who need assistance. Monetary or educational, since these are the 2 major ways to help those who need it. It’s humbling to be asking for support on this cause. We are usually the supporters of many causes that we feel are just. I am thankfully married to someone who upholds the same values.
The Arthritis Foundation provides many tools to help in the fight for Arthritis. After all, it does affect us all, one way or the other. Please help me aid this organization in the amazing work they do. You are helping millions of people battling with disability and pain due to arthritis.
This foundation provides annual allocations to help cover out-of-pocket costs related to prescriptions (co-payment, deductible or co-insurance) for low-income patients with specific diagnoses. Maximum annual allocations vary by diagnosis (ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis: $3,800/year; uveitis: $1,500/year). This is an organization that also provides educational resources for anyone who needs them, FOR FREE.
