Rotary Club of North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale Hosts Annual Holiday Toy Drive, Surprising Dozens of Kids with Gifts for 7th Year
(SAINT PAUL, MN) – For the last seven years, the Rotary Club of North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale has brought Christmas cheer to hundreds of children in the area.
This year’s Annual Christmas Gift Exchange, held at the Keller Golf Course in Maplewood, was no exception.
Through the generous donation of its participants, more than three dozen presents were gifted to North St. Paul’s Toy Shelf, Inc., an organization that supplies hundreds of free toys to kids in need every year.
The Christmas Gift Exchange, which has happened every year since 2011, is always a treat and always comes with a twist.
Members bring a present for the person whose name they have pulled that is appropriate for their job or business.
Once the gift is opened, the club then votes on the top three most appropriate and the person who gave the gift wins a prize. Then the gifts go to the children!
President Shawn Berry said, “It’s so much fun to see who gets what and knowing that we have had a great time and the children get great gifts.”
