We learn from Rob Williams from Every Meal (formerly The Sheridan Story).
Every Meal provides food to children who’s cannot otherwise get nutritious meals, that fall in the “Gap” of government programs. The Sheridan Story started in October 2010 at Mill City Church, serving Sheridan Elementary. It began as a response to the principal said there were kids in the school that were taking extra food on Fridays, have food insecurity, and are having behavioral issue.
In 2013, the organization broke off from the church to help other children in more communities. More than 200,000 children in Minnesota live in food insecurity. Every Meal’s mission is to fight child hunger by developing more partnerships between the community and schools.
They provide meals to 37% of students in Minnesota.
Since starting they have provided over 6 million meals to children in Minnesota. March 2020 thru August 2020, they have provided over 2.2 million meals.
