Jim Hunt, Rotary Club of White Bear Lake, presented on a project we supported from his club along with The Rotary Clubs of Lakeville, New Brighton / Mounds View, Prior Lake, Red Wing, Roseville, and Stillwater Sunrise.
The Rotary Club of White Bear Lake received a Rotary District 5960 matching grant for the project to construct a roof over the communities basketball court.
The community held meetings and events in a Classroom with only a small fan for ventilation. They were in need of a larger covered space and The Rotary Club of White Bear Lake stepped up.
First month activities in the new community space:
- Community meetings for Drake and Rancho Quemado.
- Every Thursday physical education for students of the Rancho Quemado school
- Basketball and foosball games for young people and families of the community during Evening-nights.
- Evangelist activity of the Christian church
- Hosting of American volunteer groups with typical dance
- Traditional games with American volunteers
- Local Arts Festival with the theme “Education for sustainable development” Rancho Quemado school.
