Esteemed KSTP Weatherman Dave Dahl Returns to North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale’s 18th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot, Sept. 14
AITKIN, MN. – For more than 40 years, KSTP’s Chief Meteorologist is an extended family member to those living in the Twin Cities metro area, beaming into Minnesotans’ homes on a daily basis with the ease of Star Trek’s James T. Kirk on the Enterprise.
But on September 14, Minnesotans won’t need a television to catch his recognizable face – they can simply come to the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale Rotary Club’s 18th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot, benefiting the Rotary’s upcoming projects where Dahl is again the featured celebrity guest in this year’s Annual Clay Shoot. “I love mingling with the shooters and their guests,” stated Dahl. “The Rotary does great work locally, regionally, nationally and internationally and I am impressed with their willingness to give up so much of their time for others. It is an honor to participate.”
During the day’s festivities, those participating will be treated to food and fellowship, as well as raffle drawings and a live auction. The live auction includes special Minnesota resort offerings such as a golf foursome at Ruttgers Bay Lake Lodge, a one night package at the Grand Casino on Lake Mille Lacs and a five day/ four-night package at Izaty’s on Lake Mille Lacs. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the Rotary.
The event supports the Rotary Club’s programs and grants for local service groups, the organization explains, in addition to the local food shelf, scholarships for students, funding international polio vaccinations and more.
According to Shawn Berry, the 2018-2019 President of this club, “The Rotary Club’s core mission includes contributing to a better world through building peaceful relationships with those around the world, providing clean water and sanitation, and fighting diseases. We raise funds through our events to help us achieve our goals … Dave’s appearance at our event is a testimonial to his wonderful support of Rotary and its missions.”
The 18th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot will be held at the Wild Wings of Oneka in Hugo (14814 Irish Ave) on Friday, September 14, beginning at 11 a.m.
